These concise terms describe the current CheckIP.ca utility. Last reviewed August 10, 2026.
Service
CheckIP.ca is a free, no-account utility that reports the requesting connection's public IP address and related network metadata. The documented API and command-line response are available for reasonable personal, development, and monitoring use.
Responsible use
Do not deliberately disrupt, overload, probe, or interfere with the service, and do not use it to violate applicable law or another person's rights. Automated clients should make only the requests they need.
Accuracy and decisions
The service is provided for general informational use. IP location, ISP, ASN, timezone, and edge data can be incomplete or wrong, especially for VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, and shared addresses. Do not rely on CheckIP.ca for identity, exact location, emergency response, legal conclusions, or security authorization.
Availability and changes
The service and its response fields may change, and uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Material changes to these terms will be reflected on this page with a revised review date.
