Understanding your IP result
A public IP address is the internet-facing address your connection presents to this site. It identifies a network connection, not a person or an exact device location, and it is different from private addresses used inside a home or office network.
Location and ISP limits
City, region, timezone, ASN, and network organization values are approximate metadata supplied with the request by Cloudflare. They can be stale, incomplete, or associated with a provider's network rather than your physical location.
VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, and CGNAT
A VPN or proxy usually shows its exit server. Mobile traffic may exit in another city or region. Carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT) can make many customers share one public IPv4 address, so an address is not a reliable personal identifier.
What this site records
The Worker processes request and network metadata to return this page. It does not create accounts or set cookies. Browser pages use privacy-minimized VisitorChart analytics without storing IP addresses; the checked-in configuration disables persistent Worker logs. Cloudflare still processes every request. How do I check my IP in Canada?
Open CheckIP.ca on the connection you want to check. Your address and available country, region, city, ISP, and ASN details appear automatically. The same IP lookup works on Canadian home internet, mobile data, and business networks.
Why does my IP show a different city or country?
IP location describes the network, not your exact physical position. A VPN can show an exit server outside Canada, and mobile or ISP traffic may leave through another city. If you change connections, reload this page to check the address used by the new request.
Can I look up someone else's IP address?
CheckIP shows only the public IP of the connection visiting this site. It does not accept arbitrary addresses for lookup, identify an IP address owner, or provide WHOIS records. Developers can retrieve their own connection details through the free IP API.
